CEDEM will assess the access to information from state authorities

February 23, 2017

On February 22, 2017, CEDEM has organized a coordination meeting of the “Ombudsman plus” experts and monitors in Kyiv. 20 local activists have discussed the mechanism of conducting the monitoring of the state of access to information.

This time not only local information administrators, such as regional administrations and city councils but also 70 central state authorities in Kyiv, in particular, the Parliament`s Committees, will be evaluated by the monitors.

In particular, they will evaluate the state of:

  • Reception of information requests,
  • Access to the meetings of collective authorities,
  • Providing citizens with a special place for the work with requested documents.

The results of the monitoring will be published at the end of May 2017.

The project is supported by the UNDP and the Danish Foreign Ministry.
