The Media Law Institute submitted an application to the Central ElectionCommission (CEC) for getting a permission to have official observers during thepre-term presidential elections in Ukraine on 25 May 2014. This right isprovided by the current Ukrainian legislation: official observers from еруnon-governmental organizationscan participate in the electoral process, asstipulatedunder para 1, Article 68 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Election of thePresident of Ukraine”.
In early March, we got registered amendments tothe Organization`s Charter (its new version), providing inter alia for monitoring of the election process among the MLI activitydirections.
Having considered our request, the CEC adopted arelevant permit resolution № 112 of 03.28.2014 and published it on its official website:http://www.cvk.gov.ua/
