On 2 August, Centre for democracy and rule of law carried out an expert discussion about providing an effective funding of National Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Ukraine, which will start on 1 January 2017. Among the participants were Zurab Alasania, Director General of the National Television Company of Ukraine, NPBU Supervisory Board members, officials and media experts.

 

During the event, participants discussed the current state of financial guarantees for making Public broadcasting independent, and the ways to improve them. Experts expressed their views on optimal scheme of Public broadcasting in Ukraine. In particular, their disputed about the management of NPBU funds, possible amount of budget funding and necessary changes to budget law.
