To sustain the achieved results, support the ongoing reforms and the development of Ukraine’s civil society, Sweden endorsed additional financial support to the Reanimation Package of Reforms in the amount of 380 thousand dollars for a period of 12 months to allow continuity of the Coalition’s work effective 1 August 2018.

“Civil society is a cornerstone of Swedish reform cooperation in Ukraine. Efficient reforms depend on the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. RPR has proved to be a reliable partner and showed an effective model of cooperation between state and society to ensure democratic development in the country,” Vasyl Romanyuk, Program Officer of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine said.

The financial support of the Reanimation Package of Reforms is very important for the continuation of effective RPR activities and for ensuring sustainable development of Ukraine’s civil society. The RPR is the largest coalition of civil society organizations and experts of Ukraine joining efforts after the Euromaidan for the sake of promoting and implementing reforms in Ukraine. The RPR acts as a coordination center for 83 civil society organizations and 22 expert groups which support, promote and monitor the implementation of reforms. As a result of the RPR’s advocacy and communication support, 123 laws have been adopted in the past four years.

“We are grateful to Sweden, a long-standing partner of the RPR, becoming now the biggest partner of the Coalition for the next 12 months, – noted the Director of the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law and the RPR Council Co-Chairman Taras Shevchenko. – For CEDEM this funding is, in the first place, a great responsibility to the Coalition partners. We expect that during the following 12 months, the RPR will attain a legal status and will be able to receive its own funding support directly.”

The Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law is the co-founder of the Reanimation Package of Reforms coalition while providing the organizational and financial support to the Coalition during four years.
