Ukrainian experts reflected on the Georgian experience in implementing media reforms with Ms Tamar Kordzaia, the reform-oriented Member of the Georgian Parliament, at today`s MLI-organised open discussion.
Some success stories from Georgia appear of particular interest for Ukraine, as commendable financial accountability of broadcasters and transparency of their ownership; liberalization of the print media regulation; and the interaction between the mass media and government. Also, the participants touched upon the requirements to the Supervisory Board members of the Georgian PSB in terms of avoiding and conflict of interest, as well as learnt from about funding sources of PSB.
MLI experts find these aspects commendable and of relevance for Ukrainian practice.
