On the 14th of January Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted aDecree on establishment of Ministry of information policy as well as Regulationthat determines its activity.
Before this happened, Verkhovna Rada appointed Yuriy Stets as a minister oninformation policy’s questions during formation of Government’s personalcomposition.
As it is pointed out in Cabinet of Ministers’ official notification, thekey tasks of Ministry are further: reaction on Russia’s information aggression;development of Ukrainian state information strategy and information securityconcept; public authorities’ coordination on questions regarding communicationand information spreading.
The Government also plans to establish Social council under Ministry whererepresentatives of civic organizations, mass media, media experts could enter.It is going to execute supervisory functions regarding Ministry’s activity.
However, Decree’s text itself and the last version of Regulation’s text onthe newly established Ministry are not published yet.
