Meta has changed its Facebook Live video storage policy. Starting February 19, 2025, new broadcasts can be viewed, downloaded, or shared for 30 days after publication. After that, videos will be automatically deleted. Previously, such videos were stored indefinitely.
Additionally, all videos older than 30 days will be gradually removed. Meta states that before deletion, users will receive a notification and will have 90 days to download the videos, transfer them to cloud storage, or convert them into a reel. To facilitate this, Meta is launching new video download tools.
“These changes aim to align storage policies with industry standards and improve the Facebook Live experience”, Meta stated. Read more on the company’s website.
