Artificial Intelligence: Rights and Freedoms of the Digital Reality

Artificial intelligence is currently used at every turn – social media and even the city streets are not the exception. But do you understand its nature? Do we need the regulations for this sphere? What areas need our most meticulous attention today? We will try to provide answers to these and many other questions at our event.

We invite everyone to the Forum “Artificial Intelligence: Rights and Freedoms of Digital Reality” to be held on 12 July in Kyiv. During this event Ukrainian and international experts from civil society, industry and the public sector will try to define the contemporary challenges and propose solutions.

During the Forum we will cover four main topics:

  • General Influence of Artificial Intelligence on Human Rights – representatives of industry and civil society sector will talk about their own vision of artificial intelligence, the challenges and benefits of its use for human rights;
  • Necessity of Regulation: Law, Ethics or their Successful Combination – discussion around the need to establish “rules of the game”, international and national law, codes of ethics and a recipe for perfect regulation;
  • Facial Recognition and Surveillance Systems and Human Rights – the general admissibility of surveillance systems, their advantages and disadvantages under the ECtHR case law, the balance between limiting abuses and protecting national interests;
  • Justice and Artificial Intelligence – about the benefits and dangers of automated decision-making, American defeats and victories, European approaches and prospects.
