I have cryptocurrency and want to donate it to Ukrainian civil society organizations – can I do it?

The majority of Ukrainian CSOs prefer the usual fundraising with the help of bank details, as well as through PayPal, which has recently become available in Ukraine. At the same time, many organizations already have crypto-wallets to raise money for the activities in favor of Ukraine. According to the co-founder of the Aid for Ukraine initiative, Serhii Vasylchuk, by the end of May 2022, the Come Back Alive Foundation alone had raised more than $20 million in various cryptocurrencies, and in general, the government and public initiatives managed to raise about $100 million in this way. It is also important to understand that cryptocurrencies are a relatively new source of funding for the public sector. At the same time, blockchain-based cryptocurrency is a technology of trust, according to the blockchain experts. This means that it is possible to transfer cryptocurrency for the benefit of certain organizations completely anonymously, without any unnecessary verifications and checks. 

Please note that in the wake of the rapid increase in the number of donations for Ukraine in cryptocurrency, many related fraudulent schemes have spread.
