CEDEM and it`s partners are preparing a series of study visitis for newly created CSOs in the field of inclusion and IDPs

May 20, 2021

As part of the Ukrainian Civil Society Sectoral Support Initiative project, the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law in partnership with Initiative Center to Support Social Action “Ednannia” is holding a series of study visits for the newly established organizations working in the field of inclusion and protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

We are convinced that in the Ukrainian public sector there is a great demand for sharing experiences and supporting each other for the purpose of positive change. Study visits are a great opportunity for newly established organizations to increase their viability and self-sufficiency.

Organizations that were established in or after 2018 and are working in the above areas were selected for study visits. They have already held a webinar on self-assessment of organizational capacity, areas of organizational development, drafting a request for a certain tool or skill and the submission of a grant for a study visit on the website of Initiative Center to Support Social Action “Ednannia”. In addition, during the webinar, the newly established organizations learned about the opportunities for organizational development provided by the Marketplace platform

Host organizations that have experience in the field of inclusion and protection of IDPs and demonstrate a high level of organizational development were also selected. In collaboration with an organizational development expert, the host organizations are working on curricula that will help trainees gain new knowledge in the below areas:

  • Project Management;
  • Grant Management;
  • Strategic and Operational Planning;
  • Advocacy;
  • Networking;
  • External and Internal Communications.

In addition to curriculum development skills, host organizations also had the opportunity to learn about the importance of the emotional component of an internship, the mechanisms for acquiring new practical skills for interns, and the impact of group dynamics on the study visit process.

By gaining experience and skills during study visits, based on curricula developed as part of a series of study visits, host organizations will be able to become providers of organizational development services on the Marketplace platform.

The process of preparation for the study visits, which will take place this summer, is underway. We wish trainees and host organizations fruitful cooperation, unforgettable experiences and great achievements in the field of organizational development. Let’s create self-sufficient public sector in Ukraine together!

A series of study visits for organizations working in the field of inclusion and protection of IDPs was made possible with the sincere support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the Ukrainian Civil Society Sectoral Support Initiative project.
