Copyright law

Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law promotes the lawful creation and use of content by journalists, media, content creators, and experts, while preventing copyright infringement and piracy.

CEDEM experts develop analytical materials that highlight the most controversial issues related to the Law of Ukraine on Copyright and Related Rights, explain the main aspects of legal regulation, and contribute to reducing the number of violations. One of the key areas of work is raising public awareness about the culture of using copyrighted works in the media environment.

CEDEM also monitors and analyzes subordinate legislation developed to implement the updated legislation and provides clarifications regarding its application. Special attention is paid to aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU copyright law. Additionally, CEDEM experts provide legal consultations on copyright in the media. To receive a consultation, please contact info@cedem.org.ua, indicating your first name, last name, and the name of the organization if the inquiry is coming from an institution.
