The Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law is working on the project Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity.
The project is implemented by the Initiative Center to Support Social Action “Ednannia” in a consortium with the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research (UCIPR) and the Center for Democracy and Rule of Law with the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity is being implemented for 5 years (2019-2024).
The project’s goal is to improve the operating environment for civil society and strengthen the institutional capacities of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in order to advance the self-reliance of the civic sector in Ukraine.
TO ACHIEVE THIS GOAL, THE CONSORTIUM IS:
- Strengthening the institutional capacity of CSOs,
- Improving the legal environment of civil society,
- Contributing to the research and study of problems, challenges and opportunities for civil society development.
The official launch of the Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity took place within the 8th Civil Society Development Forum.
Within the project, the CEDEM team is implementing several large-scale activities: development and updating of the Legal Reforms Roadmap for Civil Society in Ukraine, the first Mentoring Program in Ukraine to strengthen the advocacy capacity of newly established CSOs from different regions of the country, trainings and informational campaigns, the intensification of the topic of the Percentage Tax Designations in Ukraine and creating its concept, civil activists security component etc.
